Mr Muhilan

Mr Muhilan

Head Teacher

With a background in medical science and as a qualified lawyer, Mr Muhilan has been the Head Teacher of CMC since 2013. He has over 15 years' experience teaching Biology, Business Studies and Law at GCSE and A-Level.

He has a keen interest in the use of AI in modern classrooms and works closely with the SLT on integrating AI into CMC's curriculum-based learning.

Mr Mohan

Mr Mohan

Principal & Head of Physics

Mr Mohan has been teaching Maths, Further Maths and Physics at GCSE and A-Level for over 30 years and has a wealth of experience in the secondary school sector.

He founded CMC as a tuition centre in 1999 and has overseen its growth over the past 25 years. He has an accomplished background in mechanical engineering and physics.

Dr Brian Blundell

Dr Brian Blundell

Deputy Head Teacher and Head of Chemistry

Dr Blundell graduated from Manchester University and obtained his PhD in Chemistry from that University. He has worked for the Health and Safety Executive and has also been a Headteacher.

He has served as a lead registered Ofsted inspector for several years and as a consultant in many schools. He has worked as a Project Manager helping to raise standards overall, most especially in maths and the sciences. He has recently worked with several Zambian schools and currently helps support Chikungu School in Eastern Province. He is now Business Development Manager and Deputy Head at CMC.

Mr Alvin

Head of Mathematics

Mr Alvin has over 15 years' teaching experience and serves as an examiner for the OCR, AQA and Edexcel exam boards.

With a postgraduate degree in Mathematics and Physics, he combines deep subject expertise with a passion for helping students thrive in these critical areas.

Mr Gonsalves

Mr Gonsalves

Head of English

Mr Gonsalves graduated with a BA in English and Fine Art from Roehampton University and an MA in 19th-Century Social and Political Theory from the University of Cambridge, and holds a PGCE in English and Maths.

He teaches across all exam boards and has been an examiner. In his spare time he enjoys sketching and drawing, visiting museums, and travelling.

Ms Roux-Martyn

College Co-ordinator

Ms Roux-Martyn has over 15 years' experience across sales and fitness and has worked as a PA for four years. She speaks seven languages, which has supported extensive travel across South America, the Caribbean and Italy.

Her motto: "Live the life you love and follow your own path!"

Mrs Varvara

Mrs Varvara

Head of Modern & Classical Languages

Having studied Classical Greek at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Mrs Varvara dedicated 25 years to secondary education in Greece, nurturing a love of language among countless students.

She currently teaches Greek in London, specialising in both Modern Greek and Classical Greek. Her extensive experience and passion for Greek language and culture inspire her students in these timeless subjects.

Mrs Jeyapaalen

Head of Tamil Language & Literature

Before moving to the UK, Mrs Jeyapaalen trained as a teacher in Sri Lanka and holds a BA and MA in Tamil.

She has been Head Teacher at Sutton Tamil School for the past 18 years and has prepared students for the CIE GCSE and A-Level exams for over 15 years.
